Artists are often asked what inspires them. For me, it changes over time. Right now—and honestly, most of the time—I'm inspired by other artists and by the endless possibilities of what can be done with metal. I'm also deeply influenced by the idea of wearability and sculpture: how can I create a three-dimensional sculptural piece that’s not only visually striking, but also comfortable enough for someone to wear regularly?
When I say I’m inspired by other artists, I don’t mean I’m copying them or borrowing their style. What I mean is that I’m constantly astounded by the ideas others come up with—things I never would have thought of on my own. I’ll see something and think, “Oh, you can do that?” And that moment opens up new doors in my mind. It helps me think a little more freely the next time I’m planning a piece, especially since I tend to overthink things and get stuck in my own head. Seeing what’s possible reminds me that there’s a whole universe of ideas out there—I just have to stay open to them.
