I hope you had a lovely holiday season. Got with friends and family, maybe ate a little too much and just thoroughly enjoyed yourself.
It's a new year and I'm excited to get started on the 2026 goals I set last month. Every year I say "This is the year of Geophilia! I'm going to plan and be on top of it and be successful!" But every year I fail to plan and thus....plan to fail. But not this year!
I've written down achievable goals that should propel my business forward and I really wanted to share them with you for full transparency. They are the following:
- To get the Lucida Collection in some nice, high-end stores/boutiques. Since I'm not great at marketing and don't want to do art shows anymore, having my jewelry in shops will get it in front of alot more people than relying on social media. If you know of any small boutiques in your town that sell mid-range to high end jewelry, I'd love to hear about them!
- Create the Contour collection in wax. This will allow me to have a production side of my business and perhaps lower the prices on these items since I'm not making every single one from metal. Contour is very hard on my hands. So creating it in wax will allow me to achieve more interesting twists and folds in thicker metal while saving my joints.
- Increase my email list. I'm always looking for new friends and collectors to connect with on a more personal level.
- Maybe do some very small pop-ups, either at stores or peoples homes. Online marketing can be great but I still need to get out into the world and doing this will allow me to talk one on one with would-be collectors.
- Find a photographer. I love photographing my work, but a great photographer will take this task off my mind and save me so much time.
- Find a graphic designer. I spend alot of time designing my own print materials and it would help to have someone I could rely on to create these things when I need them.
These are pretty significant goals, but also totally doable. It will require focus and the right action to achieve these things, especially wince I tend to be a procrastinator until the last minute.
Check back here often or join my email list to get news right in your inbox. I'd love for you to become a collector or, if not, tell your friends about my work. You never know who might resonate with it. Thank you!
